Project Type:

Aesthetic design

Project Name:

Nuaire

Conka was approached by ventilation market leaders Nuaire to design a more efficient housing for its latest fan product. For installation domestically and commercially, the fan had to fit seamlessly into both low and high-end interiors, from housing association accommodation to high-end office environments.
Aesthetic appeal was a key aspect, particularly when the product would be competing with much more expensive products in its class. Functionally, the casing had to conform to strict technical specifications regarding the airflow from the ambient environment into the extraction chamber. Several tests were completed on both CAD and prototyped models to ensure maximum efficiency. Once parameters of airflow had been ascertained, the styling was developed.
Sleek and modern, yet understated, the final product sits proud of the wall mount to allow for airflow at the back of the unit as well as through a front mesh, increasing the efficiency of airflow and overall extraction. Internal components are hidden by a simple plate, that also provides access for installation and maintenance.

Conka have since worked on a number of Eco products for Nuaire ready for 2011.
